Dawn Johnson has been teaching pilates at Karate Junction for one and a half years and she is martial arts practitioner as well. She took interest two years ago and after participating in a number of pilates classes. She decided that she would like to share the benefits of pilates with others and earned her certified in August of 2005.

Pilates is designed to strengthen the core muscles of the body and students have benefited from the classes with reduced back and knee pain as well as an overall feeling of well being. It is also an exercise that strengthens and stretches at the same time. The pilates class is based on mat exercises and focuses on strengthening and flexing your entire body.
